Byrd technician gave us a quote for 15 to 16 thousand dollars cause they said our Air Handler was bad. So we called the original install company Savannah Air Factory on a Sun. ( after hours) and they determined it was the Compressor start up Capacitor and a couple wires had to be changed back to the right terminals on the upstairs Air Handler. I would hate to think the Byrd service man would overlook the Capacitor and/or change wires upstairs on the air handler, but we choose the 450.00 fix even after hours on a weekend and it is working perfectly.The young man James from Savannah Air Factory was nice and knowledgeable. Always get 2 opinions, it can save you a lot of money.

As someone who works in the trade industry myself I’ve ran into difficult customers on occasion. As a customer I’ve never came across someone who was rude or condescending that was performing work at my residence. Now I can say I have.I’ve had Byrd out numerous times this year and spent a good deal of money. I’ve had excellent customer service from every tech who has been out, hence a 5 star review that has now been edited to 2.I was told that there was nothing he can do and we have to deal with our AC not getting below 73. That’s fair, but I will get a second opinion just to be sure.The problem is he told my wife that mid 70s indoor temps is perfectly fine for our 1and 4 year olds that sleep upstairs (sudden infant death syndrome can be related to temps over 72!). I got home and went outside to greet him. Asked if he’s been upstairs in the attic to check that unit. His response was: If I know better than him he can take me up there and I can show him where the problem is. I should have kicked him of my property at that point. I don’t want or need to argue with someone that I’m paying to be there. I just treated him like I would a difficult client and killed him with kindness.Other techs such as James and previous employees were great and deserve 5 stars. The gentlemen who was last at my property deserves one star and is not welcome back. I will be calling to request that next time (if there is) to send someone else. It takes months to find a customer and seconds to lose one!Update:Decided to give your company one more shot. After spending thousands with your company over the last 2 years you were not willing to waive a diagnostic fee despite misdiagnosing my AC on previous visits. Be warned, they are in it for your short term business.

I just had my A/C serviced. The gentleman that came (Don) was on time and let me follow him around and ask questions. I’m always nervous whenever I have to call a repair person. I’ve used Byrd for 2 repairs and now one replacement. They have been extremely professional and accommodating. Whoever answers calls does an amazing job and the techs are also friendly, knowledgeable, and honest. Highly recommend.

The technician was great - once she got out here.It took over two months for me, a regular customer, to get them out here to perform summer maintenance. My initial inquiry, through their website, was ignored. Then, I got an appointment by phone - weeks out - and they cancelled it the week of the appointment. The technician was great but did not have the right filter to install in our system so they have to come back…I’m going to find a local HVAC company that does not treat their customers as an afterthought. There are literally a hundred HVAC service companies in the Savannah, Georgia area. There's just no reason to patronize one that isn't responsive or organized.Update: a different technician returned to install the correct filter. He was careful to explain that they had charged me too little, that the filter would be almost twice the price next year, and that this cost them $40 odd dollars.Just after I initially posted this review, the owner responded with an untrue and unwarranted personal attack which his manager apparently recently erased. Why would anyone do business with a company whose owner behaves in this manner is beyond me.As for their new response, I find it a specious, arrogant, and insincere PR stunt. If anyone at Byrd really cared about fixing my complaints, they would take the initiative to call me. It’s not like they don’t have my phone number!

We reached out to Byrd on a Saturday after our A/C went out, and connected instantly with Tim B. After speaking with him on the phone, he arrived at our home within 30 minutes. Tim was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. We would highly recommend Bryd and Tim.

Don came out to do a few repairs necessary in order to sell our home and he was excellent! On time, courteous and a pleasure to chat with. He had everything done in such a quick time and really was the sweetest person to talk to. I have used Byrd for years now and they always have the best staff and techs! They’re always reasonable and dependable and I’ll continue to use them in our future homes. They are very responsive and responsible. We have had them do our system maintenance for the past year and found them through a recommendation from a friend. One of our systems stopped working and we were leaving town. They came right away and repaired it. I highly recommend this company.

Overall, had a good experience and would use them again. They came out the next day while other companies told me I’d need to wait 4-5 days.. The technician was friendly and professional. The only negative is they were 1.5 hours late and their company didn’t not answer calls during that time to confirm if they were running late or not coming at all.

Even though I did not buy my unit from Byrd, they will be my go-to for all my a/c needs. They offer 24/7 emergency service and came when I needed them- whereas the other company would not. And anyone living in the south knows that when your a/c is not working- that is an EMERGENCY! Byrd’s technicians are knowledgeable and thorough. I will never use any other company besides Byrd heating and air!

Just last week as I was sipping my Mint Julep looking out of our big bay window at the large magnolia tree, I began to notice the humidity destroying my golden locks of hair. I began to swoon from heat of the afternoon. I immediately reached for the telephone to call Byrd Heating and Air. With the speed of a lightning bolt they were at this Southern Belles door step. The handsome gentlemen introduced themselves and began to work. As the sweat poured from their brow, the lean tall gentleman caught my eye. My heart began to flutter. With a swiftness the cool air began to fill my lungs and cool my body.I wonder what i could break next to have them back to save my southern soul. Thank you Byrd Heating and Air, I am not Hot anymore.

I've had 2 full HVAC system installs completed with Byrd Heating and Air Conditioning. Their sales and service teams are great. One of the jobs was difficult because it was an older home without any existing duct work. They were able to give us clear guidance on what we needed to do to prepare the home for the installation and helped us along the way.

After being out of town for several days,on night we returned home found our 1yr old A/C system not operating Frustration and agony because Savannah in middle of extreme heat wave.After getting no response from repetitive calls to installation co.I called Byrd.They immediately returned my call, scheduled appt that day.James,their technician was excellent.Arrived on time, honestly and clearly explained the problem and fixed it.When A/C again went out, promptly returned, did a complete repair at no extra charge,and then followed up with both a text and phone call to make sure no further problems.Ethical ,took great pride in his work,and did excellent job at reasonable price.Highly recommended!Will call Byrd from now on.Thanks,Jim DennisSavannah, GA

To my experience Byrd employees are knowledgeable, honest and professional in their duties. I called a company “T & T” to come look at our used A/C unit when it wouldn’t blow cold after it was installed. They told me that everything from my zone control board to my dampers to my thermostats needed to be replaced and it would be $3k. But they were looking out for me doing it for $2700. I called Byrd for a second opinion, I told him what “T&T”said and Byrd’s tech looked at things for 30mins told me it was wired wrong, he wired it correctly and I was charged service fee and labor. Thousands less than Thompson and Thompson. I will call Byrd before I call anyone else from now on because I know they aren’t trying to get over on people for their lack of knowledge.
